One last visit…

Had to make one last stop at Stephensplatz. Sadly the cathedral was closed due to a music event, so couldn’t make one final visit inside.
Guess we’ll just have to come back.

Requiem at Karlskirche

Going to Karlskirche to see a performance of Mozart’s Requiem played on period instruments. Here are some quick shots.

The rather impressive cathedral. Incidentally the first cathedral we encountered when we arrived, so it holds a special place in our hearts.

After the concert I took a couple more pictures. Sadly Requiem does not call for usage of the organ.

Lights, camera, action!

A rock music festival seems pretty much the same wherever you are.

Although this one had SIGNIFICANTLY more smoking and shouting drunk people than the last one I was at.

Vienna vacation is for a week, lung cancer is forever. Ah, souvenirs.

Aside

Vienna museum visitor protip: bring headphone splitter and headphones.
Would be much easier than holding listening device to ear, and could be shared!

Unbearably close to the Vox Dei

Status

dear organists who practice after the building is closed to the public: it’s not fair and I hate you.
I could FEEL the cathedral doors shaking when I put my ear up to them.

On the other hand I got to hear part of a service in two other cathedrals, so that’s a bit better at least.
